PwC with MITIE, Honeywell and ARAMARK
With the closure of its previous Southwark office in London, PwC was able to review its London accommodation strategy and begin to build a blueprint for a state of the art sustainable flexible real estate solution that would continue to be effective for the firm for the next 20 to 25 years.
From the outset this project was very much about collaboration. This involved engaging with key supplier partners within three principle ‘service bundles’; ARAMARK for catering & meeting rooms, MITIE for document management & distribution services and Honeywell, for mechanical & electrical, cleaning and waste. Key features/achievements of this project include:
Tri-generator fuelled by cooking oil collected from our catering partners ARAMARK’s kitchens in the London area, which produces 25% of the building’s electricity on site. Solar heat gains are reduced by an argon filled low -transmission glazing building envelope and special louvers on the south side which reduce the need for air conditioning.
- Chill beams were installed which require less energy than traditional fan coil air conditioning units.
- We only installed multi-functional devices (MFDs). These are defaulted to double sided/ secure print that has led to a 40% reduction in paper usage
- First building in London to receive BRE Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) ‘outstanding’ rating.
These are just a few examples of why ‘7 More London’ is a great place to work and also reflect the values of the firm; doing the right thing for its clients, its people and the community and of course the planet.
